Nita Mahajan, MD, MPH, Physician Director, Ambulatory Quality/Complete Care at Kaiser:
Dr. Nita Mahajan is an internal medicine physician practicing at Kaiser Permanente South Bay in Harbor City. Dr. Mahajan serves as the physician director of ambulatory quality/complete care with clinical oversight of the medical center’s outpatient COVID-19 care, including a division of employee health services. In addition, Dr. Mahajan is also Kaiser Permanente South Bay’s medical staff president and physician champion for flu.

Tom Bakaly, CEO of Beach Cities Health District
Tom Bakaly is Chief Executive Officer of Beach Cities Health District, where he has served since November 2016. In his role, Bakaly provides strategic leadership and direction to all functions of one of the nation’s largest preventative health agencies and manages $90 million in assets, 170 employees and 1,000 volunteers.

Lauren Nakano, Director, Blue Zones Project, Beach Cities Health District
Lauren is a South Bay native who grew up in San Pedro and is now a long-time resident of the Beach Cities. She has been Director of the Blue Zones project for the past eight years and has been on staff at Beach Cities Health District, one of the largest preventive health agencies in the nation, for 20+ years. Her professional purpose and passion is transforming communities.Through the Blue Zones project, she has the honor of working with organizations and individuals in Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, and Redondo Beach to implement an innovative population health initiative that focuses on environmental and policy change to measurably impact community well-being.
